Currently, July 2015

It's July 1st! That means Currently time with Farley from Oh Boy Fourth Grade! Be sure to go link up and don't forget to follow the rules!

I'm a noise extremist! It either needs to be loud, lots of talking, music, something, or silent... I don't deal well with the in between.

John is back in Bristol Bay, AK for his 4th year of commercial fishing sockeye salmon with my aunt and her family.  He left the 12th and for 9 days Fish and Game wouldn't let them fish.  So finally on Sunday they started fishing. Wahoo! Let's hope they get a great price this year. It's much easier for me to have a good attitude while he's away when he isn't just sitting around doing random crap! ;)

My birthday is TOMORROW!  I can't believe it's time for another birthday. I'll be 32. In honor of my birthday, and my great country's birthday, my entire TPT store will be on sale from the 2nd-4th! 20% off everything!
I LOVE Vegas! But not for all the reasons most people do. I don't drink, or gamble (ok, the ocassional dollar every now and again).  But I love big cities, and it's my closest big city. It is full of yummy places to eat, amazing hotels (read pools), shows, shopping, and people watching. I'm excited to head down with my mom and meet all of the awesome teachers that will be there!

Jacob Lake is a place in AZ literally in the middle of nowhere on the way to the north rim of the Grand Canyon.  They have a hotel, campground, restaurant, gift shop, gas station, and little store.  They have the BEST chocolate chip cookies. A little crispiness to the outside but soft, big, and fluffy on the inside. I had one a couple weeks ago on my now famous excursion to 3 national parks in one day with my family.

I want to get to know all my educelebrity peeps in Vegas.  but I've been to all of these meet ups the past 3 years... I don't do well in the big meet ups!  So I'd love to schedule some lunches or dinners with a few of you to REALLY get to know you and make connections.  Interested?  Let me know.  Maybe no one will want to meet me, which is fine. I can always lunch with my momma! She's the best!

I'm extremely passionate about the people and things I love, and with that come some fierce dedication to be the best I can be in supporting those people and things. It's my biggest strength, but also, my biggest weakness!

Dare to Dream TPT Seller Challenge Week 2

Hey everyone!  I'm linking up with the #TPTsellerchallenge again this week.  We're sharing our dreams! Check out other teacher's dreams from one of our Hosts:

I'm a dreamer. I always have been.

I've dreamed of being a teacher since I was 7 years old. Dreams become reality, look at me now!

Another dream that became reality this last year was Paris. When I was 13 I went and spent a month with my 2nd grade bestie's family in southern France. Because I was traveling alone, no stop in Paris for me. My hubby made it happen this last Christmas break. I love him even more for it!

So I'm a believer in dreaming big and making those dreams come true!

Here are my dreams for my TPT store. It's little still, even though I've had it for years, but I know I make quality products and I'm excited to dedicating some more time to make these dreams become realities.

My dreams are pretty simple to understand.

  • I want to be able to go where I want when I want to.
  • I want to be able to give more to more causes that are near to my heart.
  • I want to not have to live pay check to pay check.

Is it just me? Or are you singing "I have a Dream" from Tangled in your head, too, now?

Bloggy Makeover!

Welcome,  welcome to my bloggy home!!!

It recently got a huge makeover from Kristin at Teaching in a Nutshell.

Didn't she do an awesome job? She's so sweet and so patient. I didn't know exactly what I wanted, but somehow she took all the little pieces I gave her and made perfection happen! I love it. It is exactly what I wanted and didn't know how to ask for.

My hubby, since he hasn't been fishing all week, was able to take a peek at the preview while at the local library, since you know, they have no running water or electricity at their 'cabin' let alone internet. He said "it's so Erika!" which it is. Which is why I love it so much! Thank you, thank you, Kristin!! It's awesome!

If you're in need of a blog make over, Kristin will take care of you!

Makeover Madness

I'm joining up with the #TPTSellersChallenge for the next few weeks! My thanks to these four lovely ladies for hosting!!

This last weeks challenge was Makeover Madness, as in makeover at least one TPT product cover. I chose to focus my efforts on my top selling product. My US Monuments Lapbook

It has an updated cover, all new, clearer fonts, and now includes photos! I'm so excited for it to be updated. And I can't wait to use it again this year, if I really do end up back in third grade again. But that's a whole different story.

Texas Southern University

Well, for the March Blogger Match-Up I was paired with Texas Southern University.  We lost, badly to Arizona... but (let's be honest, I have Arizona winning the whole thing this year, so I wasn't too surprised!)
So that means Erin from Very Perry Classroom will be choosing one of my planners. And be sure to follow me on Instagram for a chance to win a planner of your choice, too!  Look them over, here! Since, I'm out!  I'm totally cheering Erin on for the remainder of the madness!  Go Arizona!
